Counter-Strike 2's Premier Season Five has officially begun, introducing a major map rotation and a fundamental rework of C4 explosion damage. The update, detailed in official Steam announcements, marks a significant shift in competitive play.

The most anticipated change is the return of Cache to the Active Duty map pool, replacing Overpass. Players can now test their strategies on the classic map as they climb the Premier ranks.

Bomb damage has been completely redesigned. Instead of instant damage across the map, the explosion now generates a shockwave that rapidly expands from the detonation point. Damage is applied based on precomputed simulation values baked into each map, meaning the shockwave dissipates around corners and does not penetrate walls. This allows players at a distance to survive by using cover wisely.

Alongside the gameplay changes, the Armory has been updated with two new weapon collections—Spy Tech and Arabesque—as well as two new sticker collections, all tied to the recent Call to Arms community announcement.

Season 5 is live now. For full details, check the official Counter-Strike 2 Update and Season 5, Armory, and More posts on Steam.
